the bonds: maternity.

I've had the pleasure of teaching with Mallory for the last four years, getting to know her as she married Greg, watching her become a mom for the first time, and now seeing her prepare to welcome her second daughter in April. What an eventful four years for the Bond family!

Two years ago they asked me to take maternity photos when she was pregnant with Emmy, and I was more than happy to document their joy this time as well.

We headed out to Roxborough National Park on an slightly frigid day to document their growing family, and they were definitely troopers. Emmy wasn't quite convinced that family photos were a good idea, but Mallory and Greg pulled out all their tips and tricks to get her to laugh and smile.

Thank you Bond family for letting me be a small part of your journey as a family. Thank you for braving the cold with me, and convincing me once again that this little lady is so lucky to be joining your family.

maebel heyd: newborn.

I first met Carrie a few years ago on hikes and expeditions in Colorado with my sister in law Leighann. Carrie is fun, vibrant, and a fellow teacher and photography lover, so it's clear that we hit it off quickly.

Fast forward to now, and Carrie is the proud wife of Will and mom to newborn Maebel, and it was more than my pleasure to spend some time at their beautiful home a couple of weeks ago to document the newest addition to their family. Maebel is such a sweet little girl, and of course, I loved photographing her with her big brother Moose, who just happens to have an uncanny resemblance to my pup Winston.

Carrie and Will, you are already doing a wonderful job with Miss Maebel. She is so very lucky to be a Heyd, and I can't wait to watch as she continues to grow.

What an adventure.

Introducing baby Grant! A few weeks ago I got the chance to meet this little guy and his parents, Ellen and Ron at their beautiful home in City Park.

Although he normally sleeps his days away, the Sunday afternoon I was there, Grant was much more keen on staying awake and not missing out on a single thing. Ellen, Ron, and I worked so hard to get him to fall asleep and finally succeeded toward the very end of the session.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this sweet family. There's something so special about first time parents, brand new nurseries, and sweeter than sweet newborns. The newness, joy, and sleep deprivation makes it that much more special.

Thank you Ron and for welcoming me into your home. I loved getting to know you both while we tried to get Grant to sleep, and I hope you love these photos as much as I do. His big brother's appearances are some of my favorites.

the keltys: family.

Leslie and her family just welcomed their third daughter (I love a family of sisters) a little over a month ago, and they invited me over to their home to document this special time in their lives.

Unfortunately, two year olds don't always understand how to pose and model for family photos, and little miss Caroline wasn't exactly feeling like getting her photo taken that day, but we all just rolled with it. Ann, the oldest of the girls, took the chance to be my personal model and always made sure to smile and look at the camera at every opportunity. Matt and Leslie were so kind and easy going, and I'm happy to report we were able to capture images that they loved.

Thank you Keltys for inviting me into your home on a cloudy Saturday afternoon and reminding me that even when two years olds don't want their picture taken, a loving family is always a beautiful thing to behold.
