the mahoney/millers: family.

It must be said. I loved photographing this family. They were fun and sweet and silly and little Hannah knew how to strike a pose without any prompting. It was magical.

We spent the evening outside the Denver Museum of Art and then headed over to Civic Center Park, where the flowers were perfectly in bloom and completely gorgeous. The kids ran around smelling the flowers (maybe picking one too...whoops:), and we all just enjoyed the golden light (okay, maybe that was more me) and the cool(er) weather.

I love being around families who clearly love each other well, and this family knew how to do just that.

finnley james: newborn.

I'm not sure of the exact specifics of how I met Kendra, but I know it had something to do with blogging. Both of us were avid bloggers a few moons ago, and we connected through writing, photography, some mutual friends, and the great state of Oklahoma.

Kendra and her husband Ryan just had their first baby girl Finnley a few weeks ago, and she is completely precious. When I came this week to meet her for the first time and take hundreds of photos of her, she was happy and sleepy the whole time. And I must say, for being first time parents, Kendra and Ryan are dominating. I loved spending the morning with them.

Oh, and I can't forget to mention their first baby, Zia. Granted, she is a dog, but she wanted to be included in the photos just as much as anyone else. She wasn't about to let anyone steal the spotlight.

Finnley, you are so lucky to join such a wonderful family. I know they are just over the moon to have you.

octavia: senior.

I'm pretty sure I lost count of how many times I told Octavia she was gorgeous during our session last Sunday. I couldn't help myself. She is just so, so beautiful. And if I think of how I looked when I got my senior photos taken, well, then it just becomes completely unfair.

Now Octavia isn't only beautiful, but she is athletic and dreams of one day becoming a doctor! Watch out world. This girl has it all.

I've worked with Octavia's mom, Serena, for the past three years, and I love her dearly. She's one of those coworkers who just gets it, and I know I couldn't do the crazy job of teaching middle schoolers without her!

It was so fun to spend the evening with both of these amazing women. From spiders and tall grass, to stepping stones and waterfalls, to the track and bleachers, I hope you both enjoyed our time together as much as I did.

I must say, Octavia, your future looks very bright.

john pierce: family.

john pierce. john pierce. john pierce.

this little guy just about kills me. his bright blue eyes, incredible facial expressions, and overall sweetness put me over the edge whenever i get to hang out with this kid. i love his parents dearly, so it just makes sense that i would pretty enamored with him too. he's the best.

he just turned one (!) on the fourth of july and celebrated with a baseball themed party, so it just made sense that we continue the theme in his pictures. and that hat and tie? i just about died.

john pierce, i can't wait to watch you continue to grow and learn. we all love you buddy!
