the gossetts: family.

I love it when I get the chance to work with families over time and see them grow and change.

I photographed the Gossetts when they were a family of three, so it was so fun to spend time with their newest addition: Grant. He is just the sweetest little guy and played along so beautifully (even to the point of hanging out in a pumpkin for a little while:)

Thank you for inviting me into your home to photograph such a special time in your lives. These boys are so lucky to have each other and have both of you!

Enjoy!

jack barrett: newborn.

I adore this family. Honestly and truly. I first met Chris and then Elly a few years ago through a mutual friend when Chris was a teacher (he's currently saving the world through One Seed Expeditions) and now Elly and I are in the same book club (so much talk about book clubs on the blog these days). They just had their first baby, Mr. Jack Barrett, and bottom line:

they are the best.

I got to hang out with them a couple of weeks ago at their home, provide baby Jack with his first modeling opportunity, and get the full update on Chris' childhood mullet. It was a life-changing evening for everyone involved.

I loved watching Chris and Elly love each other and baby Jack with so much sweetness it was almost overwhelming. He is a lucky boy to be joining such a wonderful family, and I can't wait to watch him grow up surrounded by so much love. Oh, and I really hope he follows in his dad's footsteps and rocks his own mullet. I guess only time will tell.

the campbells: family.

I first met Amanda a few years ago when my sister-in-law invited me to a book club with some of her girlfriends. I can't say we always read the books we were supposed to discuss, but we always spent time catching up over wine and appetizers, as any good book club does:)

Although we don't meet as a book club anymore, I still get to keep up from time to time with some of the ladies, and I was so happy to see Amanda again to take photos of her adorable family!

Otis and Rhett stole the show, and Rhett made sure to show me all his toys (that backpack!) and insist that I play with him. I tried to tell him that my way of playing is to take photos of kids playing, but I don't think he bought it.

Thank you Amanda and Silas for welcoming me into your home and trusting me to photograph such a special time in your lives! I hope Rhett enjoyed his ice cream:)

the mahoney/millers: family.

It must be said. I loved photographing this family. They were fun and sweet and silly and little Hannah knew how to strike a pose without any prompting. It was magical.

We spent the evening outside the Denver Museum of Art and then headed over to Civic Center Park, where the flowers were perfectly in bloom and completely gorgeous. The kids ran around smelling the flowers (maybe picking one too...whoops:), and we all just enjoyed the golden light (okay, maybe that was more me) and the cool(er) weather.

I love being around families who clearly love each other well, and this family knew how to do just that.
