mikaela jackson: newborn.

i've known megan for the the last few years, so i was more than happy to photograph the newest addition to the jackson family last week: little miss mikaela. although mikaela is as sweet as can be, she wasn't such a fan of sleeping on that particular day, so chris, megan, and i had to be creative. as it turns out, if you want a baby to fall asleep, just turn on the vacuum cleaner. the sound of clean will lure the baby to sleep when everything else has failed you.

i'm very thankful for such a sweet family to photograph and the trusty vacuum that saved the day. enjoy some of my favorites from our time together.

noah and lila turn one: family

one year ago, i was holding noah and lila in the nicu. i watched the machines monitor their breathing and saw all the cords and tubes connected to their little bodies. they were so small and fragile, but they were little fighters too.

i think that's why it was so special for me to be able to photograph their first birthday. they are so strong and healthy now and have some of the most expressive little faces you've ever seen. their time in the nicu is only a small part of their story, and we are all so thankful.

we celebrated them on sunday with a safari themed party, burgers on the grill, a quick torrential rain storm, and a pretty epic first cake eating experience {lila wasn't exactly a fan}. sam and becky, their parents, are two of my favorite people, and I'm so glad i could be a part of the celebration.

enjoy!

hattie ray: family.

let me introduce you to one adorable baby, miss hattie ray.

hattie's parents are our landlords and live right in front of us, so we get to see this pretty girl while she admires the fountain in the backyard or sits on her porch swing in the afternoon.

her facial expressions are second to none, and i am so glad i had the chance to photograph her in action. she was the perfect little model.

enjoy some of my favorites!

morgan: senior.

morgan was so much fun to photograph. not only is she completely adorable, but she is only 16 and graduating from columbine high school this year! she's worked really hard to graduate with her friends, but when i asked her if she was planning to go to college, she said, "i don't even know what i'm going to have for dinner." i love it. no one said you had to have it all figured out when you're just 16!

we spent the afternoon together at lair o' the bear park, which was absolutely beautiful, and combine that with how gorgeous morgan is, i had a very difficult time narrowing down which photos to share.

thank you for spending time behind my lens morgan. i know wherever your path may lead will always be full of adventure.
