Engagement

brian and christine: engagement.

Brian and Christine are adorable, sweet, and from Michigan, so you know they are good people. I've taught with Brian for the last couple of years, so I was thrilled when they asked me to take engagement photos for them, and when they chose Red Rocks, I was especially ecstatic (I've never photographed anyone there before). Driving to meet them, I was reminded how incredible it is that I live in such a gorgeous place.

We had a great time together exploring Red Rocks, and these two are so great that they even brought me water and a snack, only confirming I get to photograph some of the best people in the world.

Brian and Christine, I can't wait to hear about your pure Michigan wedding this summer. Your love for each other is clear, and I know this is just the beginning of a beautiful life you'll create together. Oh, and I insist you go to a concert at Red Rocks this summer. It a non negotiable.

sam and brian: engagement.

My friend Danielle introduced me to her sister Sam a few years ago, and I'm so glad our paths have crossed again as I had the opportunity to take engagement photos for her and her fiancee Brian a few weeks ago.

We met in downtown Golden first before heading down to a secluded spot in the Clear Creek Canyon. Both Brian and Sam were so fun to spend time with. We chatted all about their upcoming wedding this Friday in beautiful Estes Park, and I am so excited to be able to assist their photographer and be apart of their special day. With Sam's incredible planning and organizing skills, I know it will be nothing short of spectacular.

Thank you Sam and Brian for spending your Saturday evening with me and trusting me to document such a special time in your lives. Is it Friday yet?

katy and charlie: engagement.

I really can’t say enough good things about these two right here. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Katy for the past 2 years, and she is one of the most energetic, joyful, and encouraging people I’ve ever met. This girl just exudes goodness, and to be around her makes you feel better about the world.

I was so thrilled when she asked me to take engagement photos for her and Charlie, which she called “mini pics” because using the term “engagement photos” was just too much for her to handle. This girl is the opposite of Pinterest, and I love it. She insisted that there be no “gazing into each other’s eyes” or “arms around each other’s waists.” Natural and fun was the name of the game, and I knew I couldn’t disappoint.

We decided to head up to Lookout Mountain because it’s hard to go wrong in such a beautiful setting, and before I knew it they were dominating their “mini pics.” Katy is so full of laughter and Charlie is so sweet, and I think they actually admitted to having fun by the end of it.

The level of comfort, laughter, and joy between these two can only come from going through every season together (5 years of seasons to be exact). They know each other to the core, and it shows through in the way they were able to be absolutely themselves in every single photo.

Katy and Charlie, I just adore you two. Thank you for trusting me to not take the cheesy engagement photos you hate.

Let's get that double date on the books soon, okay?

justin and marcy: engagement.

i had a wonderful time at the cherry creek reservoir this past weekend with justin and marcy, a midwestern couple transplanted to colorado, with beautiful smiles and a perfect sense of humor. after spending some time chatting, i found out they both grew up in the same town in iowa (same school, church, etc), but didn't meet until after they both ended up moving to denver. i loved hearing some of their story.

they are getting married back in iowa in february, and i know they will have a beautiful wedding and even better marriage. their love for each other was obvious as we spent the morning together, and i wish them nothing but the very best.
