brian and christine: engagement.

Brian and Christine are adorable, sweet, and from Michigan, so you know they are good people. I've taught with Brian for the last couple of years, so I was thrilled when they asked me to take engagement photos for them, and when they chose Red Rocks, I was especially ecstatic (I've never photographed anyone there before). Driving to meet them, I was reminded how incredible it is that I live in such a gorgeous place.

We had a great time together exploring Red Rocks, and these two are so great that they even brought me water and a snack, only confirming I get to photograph some of the best people in the world.

Brian and Christine, I can't wait to hear about your pure Michigan wedding this summer. Your love for each other is clear, and I know this is just the beginning of a beautiful life you'll create together. Oh, and I insist you go to a concert at Red Rocks this summer. It a non negotiable.

ruby family: newborn.

I was so thrilled to spend some time with the Ruby family after their second little guy Maxwell was born. I photographed their family a couple of years ago, and it's always such an honor to be invited back for new milestones.

Big brother Will was completely adorable, and I just about died when he said his favorite song was "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. Chris and Kim are obviously some of the best parents around if their 2 year old already has that kind of taste in music.

Thank you again Ruby family for inviting me into your beautiful home, sharing your decorating secrets, and letting me document such a special time in your lives. Will and Max are so lucky to be surrounded by so much love.

the bonds: maternity.

I've had the pleasure of teaching with Mallory for the last four years, getting to know her as she married Greg, watching her become a mom for the first time, and now seeing her prepare to welcome her second daughter in April. What an eventful four years for the Bond family!

Two years ago they asked me to take maternity photos when she was pregnant with Emmy, and I was more than happy to document their joy this time as well.

We headed out to Roxborough National Park on an slightly frigid day to document their growing family, and they were definitely troopers. Emmy wasn't quite convinced that family photos were a good idea, but Mallory and Greg pulled out all their tips and tricks to get her to laugh and smile.

Thank you Bond family for letting me be a small part of your journey as a family. Thank you for braving the cold with me, and convincing me once again that this little lady is so lucky to be joining your family.

maebel heyd: newborn.

I first met Carrie a few years ago on hikes and expeditions in Colorado with my sister in law Leighann. Carrie is fun, vibrant, and a fellow teacher and photography lover, so it's clear that we hit it off quickly.

Fast forward to now, and Carrie is the proud wife of Will and mom to newborn Maebel, and it was more than my pleasure to spend some time at their beautiful home a couple of weeks ago to document the newest addition to their family. Maebel is such a sweet little girl, and of course, I loved photographing her with her big brother Moose, who just happens to have an uncanny resemblance to my pup Winston.

Carrie and Will, you are already doing a wonderful job with Miss Maebel. She is so very lucky to be a Heyd, and I can't wait to watch as she continues to grow.

What an adventure.
